During the past year the Russian military has been accused of committing war crimes in Ukraine. This series of portraits are of Ukrainians who have either survived or witnessed war crimes. They have been tortured, deported, imprisoned, faced mock executions, bombed, shot at & homes destroyed. Some of what they have endured form part of the submissions to the ICC. It is a war crime to inflict torture or inhumane treatment, wilfully cause great suffering, or serious injury to body or health & unlawful deportation, transfer or confinement against persons according to the Geneva Convention.
