Charlie was diagnosed with Brain Cancer at the age of 19, he has undergone surgery and intensive therapies, and has been in a hospice to get help with daily living. Despite doctors telling him that he was approaching death, on 3 separate occasions, Charlie survives. He says he feels privileged because of the quality of life he enjoys; he makes the most of his time and lives with gratitude and humour. He has recently celebrated his 37th birthday and lives independently. Like flora growing in some inhospitable places he keeps flourishing.
