Patti O'Halloran Yes on so many levels - the message, using humor to convey it, and the perfectly constructed image
Here I used my own daughter as my muse. In the photo she is crushed under one of her favorite childrens books titled "Atlas". The piece is about the burdened (climate crisis, war etc...) state in which we are handing over the world to the future generation (our children). The title of the book and the artwork is also a reference to Greek mythology, where Atlas is condemned to hold up the weight of the world for eternity. The photograph was taken outdoors under the harsh light of the summer sun at noon, creating a raw and high contrast flash effect and referencing global warming.
