Nothing Gold Can Stay is an ongoing documentary project which explores economic globalization's long-term effects on former industrial cities and the intersection of depressed economies in small towns throughout America. I seek to make quiet photos that point at the underlying currents of uncertainty, isolation, and desperation which have always been present in the United States though often overlooked and ignored. Seen through the remnants of its idealized past, the crumbling infrastructure of parking lots, forgotten homes, storefronts, and factories are epitaphs for an America long gone.
