I have been experimenting with 110 cameras for several years, but it wasn’t until recently that I began to combine my work in the field of anthropology with this type of photography. I use films whose chemicals naturally give a turquoise and orange tone to the portraits I take during my fieldwork. While I was in the Virei area of Angola, I met this girl from the Mucubal ethnic group. Her portrait has marked the beginning of a series that I have decided to title 'Turquoise Dawn'.
