his series presents intimate portraits of community members and family, captured for my graduate photography thesis. Through these images, I honor the enduring presence of my Black ancestors—those who have fought to preserve and sustain land and space in our small town of Metter, Georgia, despite outside pressures. Each portrait reflects a legacy of resilience, love, and an unbreakable connection to home and the Black community in this town.
