Oecusse, an exclave of Timor-Leste, stands as a symbol of resilience. Despite isolation and the legacy of colonialism, its people preserve strong cultural traditions and community values. Ema Diak, Rise is a visual exploration of this strength, revealing how environment and identity intertwine. Through my photography, I aim to amplify voices of resilience, challenge perceptions of isolation, and celebrate the enduring spirit of Oecusse within the broader Timorese narrative.
