Balenciaga’s Le City Bag campaign, shot by Lauren Greenfield, renowned for her sociological and critical eye, recreates the self-conscious rituals of fashion’s front-row: truss lights, cameras, influencers performing for their audiences. Inspired by Greenfield’s 2009 photo of Vogue’s Anna Wintour, the campaign replaces the institutional gatekeeper with social media stars, signaling a shift in cultural power.
