This Milky Way vertical panorama was captured at Mungo National Park, NSW, Australia, featuring a lone tree silhouetted against the sky atop ancient lunettes. In this remote and fragile landscape, the tree becomes a symbol of endurance, growth, and our ancient bond with the natural world. Mungo, part of the World Heritage-listed Willandra Lakes Region, holds some of Australia’s oldest archaeological records. To enhance these faint nebulae, the Hydrogen-alpha data was separately captured and merged with an astro-modified RGB image, bringing out details otherwise invisible to the naked eye.
