“The Doormen” is a photo series that provides an intimate window into a uniquely New York profession. Through these images, I aim to showcase the dignity of these men who often go overlooked despite acting as a backbone that props up life in the city. The series began as part of a masterclass “Deepen Your Photographic Approach,” taught by Magnum photographer Matt Black in the spring of 2024. The series of 50 photos was self-published in January of 2025. -Jordan Ledy
