Claudio Composti In photography, elements like water, darkness, light, or the depths of the sea are more than symbols—they are gateways to a sense of suspension and sacredness. They open windows onto invisible worlds. This is what photography should strive for: not just to document, but to awaken the imagination, to reflect a unique point of view that invites the viewer to dream.
Barracuda Lake is an otherworldly lake in Coron, Philippines. It resides in the crater of an ancient extinct volcano. At 10m there's a thermocline where the water goes from 26 degrees freshwater to 36 degrees saltwater—you can visually see the water composition change! The water maintains crystal clarity unlike anywhere else I've freedived. Limestone cliffs surround the enigma, and the dramatic topography serves as the ultimate playground for photographic experimentation and endless wonder for the curious mind.
