In the winter of 2008, I traveled to Poland to search for the scars left by the twentieth century, from the Holocaust to Soviet domination. Instead, I was drawn to vast, silent landscapes of fields, forests, mountains, and frozen shores, places still shaped by memory and untouched by modern life. The journey became an intimate inner experience of silence and reflection. In 2023 I returned, avoiding cities,to seek that same thread of memory and enchantment. The photographs were taken during those two winters. They reflect time suspended, fragile presences, and the quiet magic of those encounter
