Hiroshi Osaka The skill with which the dynamic moments of water sports are brilliantly captured using strobe light is remarkable. The splashes of water transcend the boundaries of mere sports photography, becoming truly artistic.
Kiteboarding photography is a constant balance between chaos and control. From tropical lagoons to stormy seas, the sport’s unpredictability offers endless creative possibilities. Each discipline brings its own energy, and my background in skate photography shaped a collaborative, intentional approach with riders. Bringing artificial light to the water—using powerful strobes—even in harsh Brazilian midday sun, allows me to sculpt scenes beyond simple action. For me, it’s not just about tricks, but about transforming wind, motion, and light into timeless visual stories.
