Beneath San Diego’s Washington Street highway, a DIY skatepark has risen on a former vacant lot, now shaped by poured concrete. Every impact, slide, and friction tells of appropriation, ingenuity, and collective invention. By isolating fragments, textures, and lines, the series reveals a raw, poetic visual language, where each gesture transforms the space into living architecture. These subtle but determined citizen acts turn the ordinary into experimental ground. They reveal the poetry of resourcefulness and the power of collective creativity inhabiting the city’s margins.
