The port city of Jeddah has been Saudi Arabia's gateway to the world for millennia. Jeddah is in the midst of dramatic change as Prince MBS' Vision 2030 project seeks to diversify the country's economy and make the birthplace of Islam more Westernized and modern. Ancient buildings are being refurbished, but some people feel anxiety about the country's ability to maintain its culture while achieving the desired economic growth. I was able to capture some of the buildings before they were restored.
