As a photographer of abandoned places, I often have to deal with environments that exist almost entirely in a decaying darkness. Melancholy is the prevailing feeling. Yet there are rare moments when light manages to filter through, creating something magical: in those instants, it blesses the ancient atmosphere of places usually consumed by decay. Paradoxically, I find myself reacting quickly in spaces where time seems to flow extremely slowly. In those moments, you become a privileged witness to the final expressions of pride in structures destined to collapse or fade away with time.
