Hiroshi Osaka This work captures a rugby tournament in Rwanda, but it is more than just a sports photograph; the silhouettes of the children and coaches create intriguing shapes. The way the moment of action is captured and the composition of the frame are outstanding. The monochrome rendering is also superb.

Photographed while teaching grassroots rugby in Kigali and northern Rwanda with Friends of Rwandan Rugby, this series follows children, teachers and local coaches brought together through the game. The week culminated in a vibrant two-day tournament in the district of Byumba, where the confidence, teamwork and friendships developed on the training field came vividly to life. Beyond the action, these photographs celebrate the power of sport to connect communities and inspire young people.
