The Spring 2018 had very clear air with loud waterfalls. This is when photo Captains Thoughts was taken and also photo Rockman. Quite different from when I went in 2015 and 2017. Yosemite Valley is so huge because it's walls climb so high. The Half Dome (Purple Dome Half/Into The Smoke) rises 4000 ft. above the valley floor and El Capitan (Captains Thoughts) rises 3000' above. Rockman is a closeup at Bridalveil Falls.
