Calcio Storico is an annual sports match fought between the four districts of Florence, Italy in the Piazza Santa Croce. It is a mix of rugby, boxing, wrestling and almost anything goes fighting. There are 27 players on each team. It has been going on since the 16th Century and has historical routes back to the Roman Empire. The object of the game is to score goals. there are two semi finals and the final is always played on the 24th June, The 'Feast of John the Baptist' day.
