Shanghai is the biggest city in a country that is perpetually under construction. Thousands of high-rises jut up into the sky, phallic symbols of prosperity and of progress. Fifteen years ago, these same spaces were occupied by old colonial-style neighborhoods. Now they´re being replaced by glossy office buildings for multinational corporations, top-of-the-line, serviced apartments for these corporations overpaid executives.
