When my daughter turned 12, I noticed subtle but profound changes in her. Physical ones: hair, breasts and blood appeared, limbs grew longer, hips got rounder. And emotional ones: mood swings, doubt, anger and self-depreciation, together with strong will and assertiveness. Either happy, playful and carefree, or compassionate, serious and even worried. Brutal emotions in a raw body. To cope as a mother, the photographer in me turned these changes into photos. And paired them with natural elements to remember that these permanent changes are normal and beautiful and should only be embraced.
