Reality can be harsh and sometimes I feel the need to escape from it. Photography is the way out. In imagining scenery I find balance, perfection, unknown experiences and the desired escape. By reducing my images to the very essence I'm searching for the balance and perfection, by using long exposures and a different kind of editing the other two. In my latest work I experiment with color in black and white images. The subject, however (small harbor along the coast of Zeeland, Netherlands) maintains a connection with reality and thus I can escape the harshness without losing touch completely.
