A young girl sits by herself on a rooftop in Yazd, Iran. Above her is a badgir, or windcatcher which is a traditional Iranian architectural element to create natural ventilation in buildings. The historic Jameh Mosque of Yazd can be seen in the distace with the pair of minarets being the highest in Iran, dating back to the Safavid era and measuring 52 meters in height and 6 meters in diameter.
