Until about dozen years ago, we could easily understand the poverty problem in Manila through poverty icon scavenger who lived in Smokey Mountain. But they were already evicted by force. However, about one billion people still live in slums of Manila. Meanwhile, poverty problem is one of the important social problems in Manila even now.
