The women that I photographed have alopecia, have been through chemotherapy, or simply like being bald. They got together with the idea of redefining the concept of beauty. Men can be blond, brown, red, white and... bald. Why not women? When I showed this work to my clients, the reactions have been harsh. Every single magazine that saw the story (about twenty) refused to publish it for the very same reason: those pictures might clash with the feminine ideal supported by advertisers. To me they express, in their own way, that beauty has a lot to do with truth.
