Who's inside, who's outside? Who's watching, who's being watched? This photograph plays on the blurred frontiers of plastic separating people. It also uses the frames of the shield to isolate four different stories, like a comic book. The girl on the left, visibly sad and lost, the man in the center, focused and reading, and the two girls behind, talking to each other across the frame and finally to the right, the group of four, again split by the frame of the structure. Four microcosms, absorbed in the moment, so close and yet totally blind to and isolated from each others.
