Leopardi argued that pleasure was an illusory relief that man feels when he manages to escape a pain that appears frightening to him. Over the past two years, we have experienced a period of universal suffering that also caused psychological repercussions in many young people. With this self-portrait I tried to express a reflection on the leopardian concept and on the mental effects that this pandemic has caused. Isolation, melancholy, anger are all feelings that have worn us out inside. I understood that it was necessary to live them fully because peace can only be found respecting the storm.
