Winter dresses the banks of the Duero River in mist as it passes through the city of Zamora, in northwestern Spain. When temperatures drop below freezing, the fog turns to frost, covering absolutely everything. The landscape is transformed and the cold stops time. The waters of the river remain immobile, like a mirror, and on its banks, the trees, covered in white, are lost in the mist. Everything is mute. The birds are silent. And despite the beauty of the place, the inhabitants refuse to leave the heat of their homes.
