#EchoParkRiseUp Peaceful Vigil With the Unhoused Residents - Echo Park Lake, LA 3/25/21 A second night of demonstrations in Echo Park led to hundreds of arrests, injured journalists, and police brutality. Activists built a vigil in solidarity with the Echo Park Lake residents who were being “swept” from their home and community by Council member Mitch O’Farrell. Protesters were peaceful throughout the afternoon and into the evening. But LAPD showed up in force by the hundreds and escalated situations that led to about 100 protesters and about 20 journalists to be detained for over 2 hours
