Both series start with well-known camera techniques (ICM, DoF) and use layering to create images that reference artistic styles and techniques. My passion is to explore the intersections of photography and contemporary art where light and colour become the subject matter to reveal rich palettes and patterns, and layered rhythms and textures. I explore unseen and abstract elements, creating fragmented painterly images. The Prisoner series starts with 100+-year-old photographs. The Colour Studies originates with coloured papers, stacked in a 3D tower of glass shelves.
