Hiroshi Osaka The overlap between the paintings and buildings of the historic museum and the people who visit and appreciate them is interesting. The delicate overlapping arrangement of each subject is playful, free and wonderful.
I explore the different planes of reality through double exposures made on camera in various museums around the world. In each shot I document what is placed in front of our eyes, but overlapping them I question the notion of truthfulness in photography. I merge in correlative exposures the characters of the works of art and the visitors, producing a dialogue between them. Past and present intertwine for a moment in an oneiric dimension, testing our perception. Addressing the ambiguity of photographic description, with this work I propose a reflection on our interaction with exhibited art.
