My directed images express, paradoxically, the discomfort and fear of reality through wit and parody in order to suggest a metaphorical connection between society and imagery. Each island of light served as a place where I could explore my imagination within society. By presenting viewers with a tragic scene that has been obviously fabricated, they can more easily explore their assumptions without sympathy for the subjects involved as a result of this alienating effect.
