Louisa J. Curtis This series stood out for me because it was not only beautifully shot, but also different - instead of the flowers, we see the seeds and how astonishingly beautiful they can be - really nicely done
Dispersal is a series of photographic portraits of seed pods (fruits). Each work is a visual history of the evolution of a species, exploring forms as adaptations that reflect companion organisms & native environment. Individually, each work is a fine art portrait illustrating the architecture of a fruit (seed pod). Collectively, the series reveals the staggering diversity of textures, colors, and forms that species have evolved in pursuit of survival and reproduction. I've collected all specimens myself, either in the wild or at partnering botanic gardens & arboreta.
