Migration is a way of life for Western Mongolia Nomadic Kazakh families. They typically move 4-5 times a year, to find better pastures for the animals. Winter in Mongolia steeps is harsh, extreme cold, strong winds and snowstorms. Winter migration is the longest, very difficult and sometime dangerous journey for people and animals. Herdsmen need to move their animal and family hundreds miles over serval days to their spring pastures. This photo serial ditches one family (Shohan's) Winter Migration in 2020, to whom I followed for 250 km in 5 days, walked in -20 degree temperature.
