The Butterfly People documents the lives of Canadians living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare, genetic skin condition. People living with Epidermolysis Bullosa are also called the butterfly people, due to the sensitive nature of their skin. The Butterfly People project follows Deanna, Emily, the Essw family and Mary to tell a unique photo story of strength, resilience and survival. The participants live with various types of EB, ranging from mild forms to severely dystrophic and form a tight-knit community that comes together in times of challenge and difficulty.
