The Red Wall (La Muralla Roja) focuses on the Calpe housing estate by the architect Ricardo Bofill. Built in 1973, La Muralla Roja is a postmodern apartment complex in Calpe, Spain and is ranked as one of Ricardo's ten now iconic works. My visual language is to assemble the architectural surface as painterly abstraction. Borrowing from the clean, vivid clarity of color field painting like Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman, I transform my photograph into a striking composition of colors and lines.
