The Aggression series began when I was hired by the management of an up-and-coming band (XRPM) to shoot photos for the group’s new website. This was more demanding than I first thought, due to the lighting conditions and the crowds The body of work entitled Aggression is my interpretation of the low light, heavy music mixing together, setting a rough and unpolished tone. There's a certain feel you get in a intimate club-loudspeakers, soundboard feeding back, heavy music blaring-and my interpretation of that feeling is the look I'm presenting today with the Aggression series.

Story

I find my photography a unusual blend of people photographers Dorothea Lange, and Anton Corbijn. Although I generally don’t document social issue such as the effects on families during the great depression as Dorothea Lange did. I'm using my gift to document the tone of music performances. The ability to capture the tone and feel of a event is what we have in common. More recent influences would place me next to Anton Corbijn who shoots a similar look to my own.
In recent years my focus has gravitated towards music; primarily in the rock genre, and this is where Anton, and my styles go down a similar path. This is reflected in a recent body of work entitled Aggression. The Aggression series was shot on a Canon 20D, and are generally backlit 24x36 prints.
