In northeastern district of Chaoyang is building a hotel with over 300 rooms and suites, a business center and shopping center surrounded by a lake and a garden of 17 hectares. The construction of large tourist and business complex has more than 500 workers from eighteen to fifty years old, mostly from northern regions such as Hebei, Henan and Hubei. These people is a part of the fantasy of a masked economic prosperity, this may be the reality of building of the new China, the country that has grown more over the past ten years as we all know that the biggest secret of economic growth in China is cheap labour. The salary is 100 to 400 euros per month, working 63 hours a week without rest even one day, with contracts of one month renewable period. Install them in enclosures near their work, these small homes where rusted bunk encounter with each other without a minimum of sanitation. I photograph them, they invite me to smoke and drink beer in makeshift glasses. They say they do not care about security measures but only want to earn money to help their families, although sometimes feel a danger for their lives. They sleep between backpacks, shoes, bottles and traces of mud from the previous day. Hardly you can see the color of the floor. It is saturated with the food scraps and cigarette butts. Wrinkles burst into their young faces, and while chewing, say they are from small regions that have to work hard to continue the lifestyle that their country demands them. The intense murmur of splashing chew seeps their ears. <<We have no name, here we are the Wai Mi Min Gong.>> captions: 1.
