Most Orthodox Jews adhere to a life of simplicity, they do not work and do not serve in the Israeli army but devote their time to studying the Torah. This has brought much tension between the secular and Orthodox Jews whose taxes are used for welfare support for the Orthodox Jews who are unemployed. The Orthodox Jews are also at odds with the secular Jews' way of life and dressing. It hints that in the State of Israel, there are rifts within society.
