Part of a series called Manimals. Each image is shot in camera as a 4x5 in dry plate tintype and then enlarged into a 8x10 dry plate tintype. Using textures, patterns, animal features, and human clothing, I have combined the concept of “animal” with the concept of “human.” The combination of these details in each image reveals symbols that refer to both human and animal qualities creating a visual hybrid between the two, thus uncovering our true identity.
