Portraits of the reclusive Tarahumara indians of the Sierra Madre mountains, Mexico, who have become the latest victims in Mexico’s drug war. Drug cartels have taken over Tarahumara lands to produce opium and cannabis and forcing them to work the fields, killing some who do not comply. The Tarahumara are renowned ultra long distance runners, and drug cartels have taken advantage of this by recruiting young poverty stricken Tarahumara men to run drugs across the desert to the USA where a number have been caught and jailed.
