On first glance at Factory Walls one is drawn to the abstract graphic compositions: Open, empty, white spaces broken by a colorful grid of rectangular windows, electrical sockets, pipes, emergency medical equipment and bright red fire hydrants. A random installation created by decontextualizing the walls from the rest of the factory. The walls of a factory are what keep the workers and the outside world separated. Their emptiness and sterility are intentional. Within the factory neutral and impersonal space void of individual expression create a sober atmosphere where workers cannot easily de distracted and maximum productivity is encouraged.
