Archipelago of Franz Josef Land. Nobody lives here but there is a vivid mark left by soviet military bases: aviation fuel, rusty barrels, waste, abandoned equipment, radar station. Alexandra Land is covered with about sixty thousand tons of oil in tanks and barrels. Especially for this activity on Franz Josef Land a special system of old oil and barrels utilization was invented. First the oil is pumped out from barrels into the mobile tanks. Empty barrels are burnt out, pressed and prepared to be uploaded onto the boat in order to be taken away to the continent for further utilization.
