My three-year-old son was the subject of this image. The project was a psychological exercise based on addressing my fears as a parent. My extreme attention to detail was probably what drew me to become an artist, but it was somewhat crippling for me as a parent. This image is a manifestation of my irrational nightmare of my son being lost. To keep it authentic, I used a location that is only a few miles from my home. This project helped me to process my fears as a first time parent and achieve a level of emotional and intellectual clarity.
