The photographs are from a book entitled “Living on a Dollar a Day: The Lives and Faces of the World’s Poor.” The images and stories, taken in 10 countries on four continents, are of individuals and families who survive on not much more than one U.S. dollar each day. The book features profiles of the lives of over 40 people as they share their hardships, their joys, and their dreams for the future. Most often parents have little hope of changing their own situation, but always want something better for their children.
