My pictures show scenes of history of the world. They do not refer to specific events nor illustrate specific places on the map. They create the impression of images once seen. For in my opinion, all the emotions and tensions of events that once occurred remain with us forever – they were with those who before us and will be with those after us. They hide in the corners of my concrete world of images and creep into our dreams. They exist. When arranging the scenes of mine, I try to create a specific atmosphere – a state of emergency, escape, seeking a safe haven, curiosity and aversion to the unknown, the brotherhood of crowds, the will for living, games and fun.
