I began creating the World’s Best Father images when my daughter was 9 weeks old, and have now created more than 130 images in this series. These images are my attempt to humorously deal with my own fears and neuroses as a new father while also satirizing common stereotypes associated with fatherhood. Stylistically, I both pay homage to and parody the idyllic family portraits of Norman Rockwell. Visually, I over process details and colors to make the images look like cartoons; I want to immediately alert the viewer that they are supposed to have fun with these images.
