As Ebola began to take hold in the West African nation of Sierra Leone, it became clear that unsafe burials were responsible for a huge amount of cases. As a result, the work of dedicated burial teams became a key part in the fight against the disease. Working in stifling plastic suits and at constant risk of infection, the burial boys took up the challenge, often at the cost of being cast out by their families. These photographs are a testament to their work.
