In this series series I captured Black Bike Week, a predominately African American motorcycle rally that takes place in Myrtle Beach annually. The rally creates an opportunity for African American bikers and enthusiasts to exhibit both their bikes and themselves. Black Bike Week attracts an average 170,000 more participants than its predominately white counterpart Harley Davidson Week, which occurs one‑week prior. Unlike similar events across the United States women make up 50% or more of the participants at Black Bike Week. I returned to my home town to document this insight into the African American biker community.
