Pillar to Post
sam wright
As a generational shift pulls this unique culture in different directions, government policy is giving that pull a push, limiting the ease of and right to the nomadic lifestyle of traditional Travellers. Meanwhile, these communities continue to battle the decades-old prejudices of the UK’s settled population. Photographer Sam Wright’s work holds people and place storytelling at its heart. Travelling to fairs to meet Travellers and Gypsies of all ages first hand, Sam captures a true portrait of the people – their histories, their futures – as they face a defining time.
Jungle Momma
Ingrid Vekemans
A chimpanzee mother took her baby up a tree so they could both have a good look at what was going on around them. They saw us photographers struggle to find a position in the jungle so we could get a good photo. Mother had seen it all before but the baby’s eyes followed us intently.
Loose Ball
Tom Raymond
Longer lenses are difficult to use when athletes are competing at close range, but they allow you to capture the essence of the action. This basketball player was literally flying horizontal through the air to retrieve a loose ball that was about to go out of bounds.
L’Impressioniste
Emily Hlavac Green
By nature, flowers are ephemeral, radical expressions of life itself, blooming then dying. Perhaps it is this quality that motivates me to capture them during a strange unprecedented time, when finding escape from the modern digital anxieties reminds us we are still alive. Shot on film, this story is a feverish and playful exploration of our relationship to nature, bringing the outside in. Drawing on the romanticized, sensory works of Monet, a landscape is created from printed and cultivated flowers to the point of abstraction.
HEAVEN SENT
Jacob Mitchell
A playful take on Southern Americana, HEAVEN SENT depicts a sign sent from above. The idea for this piece was derived from the late nights spent at Waffle House, hungry and tired. This specific work is a composite made of two images. Seamlessly combining images into one allows me to bend reality for the viewers, taking something overlooked every day and making it noticeable.

Michael Dorohovich
The unique collection of the Transcarpathian Museum of Architecture and Life in Uzhhorod represents the identity and character of the inhabitants of the smallest region of Ukraine – Transcarpathia of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Generalissimus Episoda
Helga Madajova
The marvellous Old Kladruber stallion, Generalissimus Episoda shows us his majesty and elegance in a portrait on a simple background of his stable. It stands out with its massive roman nose and its high-energy sight. His fascinatingly rounded roman nose, together with his neck features, typical for baroque stallions, combine the lines of the Golden Ratio. It describes absolute perfection with its curves. This horse is an art

African Palm Harvested on Disputed Land
Seth Berry
A campesino land occupier risks his life to harvest palm fruit on disputed land next to Dinant Corporations’ production plant. For over a decade, peasant activists and land occupiers in the Aguan Valley have been terrorized, threatened, and murdered at an alarming rate. Most of the killings have been attributed to the Dinant Corporation (African Palm) and Pinares iron mine. With little to no help from a corrupt government, these large corporations are operating with complete impunity in their crimes while peasants who try to protect their land and rights are killed to be kept silent.

People of Darfur
Jordan Siegel
Darfur sits in the western region of Sudan. Darfur is often recognized for the past genocide in 2003, killing around 500,000 people. The war in Darfur is now called by the Sudanese a forgotten war. Today, the situation in Darfur is some of the worse violence that’s teetering to a possible second genocide. I lived with a tribe in South Darfur and got a taste of the beautiful culture and reliance of the Darfurian people. Instead of photographing the war, I documented daily life. I believe these photos can resonate with the beautiful everyday culture I witnessed, hoping to bring more awareness
